Coding Fact or Fiction
Following on from the last post, let’s break down the basics of Hypertext and online Literature. Coding is a skill that we wouldn’t initially think of being literary in nature. But, what when we think of hypertexts and online archives all they really are are sources of code that create digital texts.
Does that make coding as credible as traditional writing? Coding is essentially how we create media. Therefore, does it count as Literature? Can we analyse code the same way we analyse written texts?
Some quick thoughts I’m currently considering. Who knows? Maybe all Literature in the future will be written in code.
